Young Bayesians in the Big Data Era:
Advanced Bayesian Computation (event 1911)
Dates: 3-7 December 2018
Place: CIRM (Marseille Luminy, France)
Given the advances in Bayesian modelling and computation, particularly in the area of Big Data, it is important to provide opportunities for early career researchers around the world to exchange research ideas, and explore challenges and opportunities, with each other and with senior researchers in the field. It is also important to facilitate lifelong international networks between early career researchers that will be beneficial for their immediate and long-term careers.
This workshop focuses on providing such an opportunity. The workshop will enable intensive collaboration and research in a semi-structured environment, with presentations in the morning session followed by breakout groups during the day.
The anticipated outputs of the workshop include outlines of journal articles and draft chapters for inclusion in a book on ‘Bayesian Statistical Modelling and Analysis of Big Data’.
